Aim of workshop
To look at the role and some techniques of social marketing in promoting self-help seeking amongst men who perpetrate domestic violence
In this workshop the concept of social marketing will be explained, and an example provided of a campaign run in Hull, England. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own experience of social marketing campaigns, and to discuss the merits of such approaches.
Method(s) of participant involvement
Participants will be involved in the workshop through:
- Sharing their own examples of social marketing campaigns
- Discussing ‘what works’ in using successful social marketing campaigns
- Sharing ideas for future social marketing campaigns
Anticipated key learning
Participants should have a clearer understanding of the role and value of social marketing approaches in raising awareness of, and prompting action by individuals in relation to domestic violence.
